The One America Committee says it is "dedicated to helping elect Democratic candidates across the country." The most important Democrat seems to be Senator John Edwards. Remember him? Eight months after the 2004 Presidential election, Senator Edwards launched a video blog. While it is hard to imagine the Senator fiddling around with his computer late at night editing video (he has some professional help on this), it does maintain a grassroots, homemade feeling. Citizens (right now mostly video bloggers) can video tape a question and send it in. Then Sen. Edwards answers the question, also on video. The end result is a time-delayed conversation, or a really long town hall meeting. It is a great application of the vlog concept. And a good indicator that the Internet will continue to be a key tool in politics.

Other Fug Fixes

It's been another long week here at GFY HQ, what with the Oscars, and blogging about the Oscars, and then complaining about how boring the Oscars were... but, at long last, TGIF. Which around these parts stands for Thank George It's Friday.

What better way to end the week than to borrow again, with respect, a gimmick from The Daily Show and sign off for the day with something that brings us inner peace. After a random conversation with a friend about Reba McEntyre songs, it came to my attention that she'd never been exposed to the sheer brilliance that is the video for that old duet, "Does He Love You?" I remember seeing this when the song came out back in the 90s, and it plucked every soapy heartstring I have.

Behold the glories of what Reba is wearing in the very first shot! Of the hat she so boldly wears in extreme close-ups in Act 2! Of the hugeness of her hair in Act Three! The total generic himbo they're fighting for, and all the associated top-notch acting! And that ending.

Caffeinated Clint's DVD Drivel Dome

Who's in it? : Everyone but the one guy who wish was in it. Norbit. What is it? : A cheap fiscally-minded attempt to cash in on the Eddie Murphy-starring Doctor Dolittle movies. This, the second of two direct-to-video sequels that Murphy doesnt appear in, stars teen-sensation Kyla Pratt as Dolittles daughter who, of course, can talk to the animals as well. This one just goes too far Maya Dolittle is placed on a special assignment from the President (my old friend Peter Coyote obviously desperate for a buck these days) where she, once again, discovers animals with voice boxes. For the under-six crowd. Extras : Featurettes on the animals. Yawn. Buy me Dog! : Here

East West 101 : Season One Region : 4 Whos in it? : William McInnes, Don Hany, Susie Porter What is it? : Another solid Australian drama series I tell ya, I think we do em the best.

Election 2008: Chua's son among new faces in Johor MCA

JOHOR BARU: It looks like former health minister Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek will be very much in the campaign spotlight even though he is not contesting.

This is because his son, Tee Yong, is hoping to succeed him as Labis MP.

This was announced by party president Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting here yesterday.

Ong will be contesting the Kulai parliamentary seat, moving from Tanjong Piai which he had held for four terms.

Speaking after announcing the names of the MCA Johor candidates, Ong was more than willing to comment about his switch, but less so about Tee Yong, declining even to confirm that the young man is indeed Soi Lek's son.
To a question about Tee Yong, Ong played coy, replying that the young man was chosen because he had tremendous support from the Labis division.
